The 20th Anniversary of DAAD Was Successfuly Held at the German Embassy


The DAAD program (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst), which is organized by the Chinese Training Center in the School of Chinese Language and Literature of BFSU, celebrated its 20th anniversary with a theme of "Learning Language and Practicing in China" on 14th,October at the German embassy in China. This event was undertaken by the DAAD Beijing Center. Most of the Agents, and leaders from all regions of the DAAD, and some of alumnis attended the celebration. Teachers and participants from Chinese Training Center were invited to attend the ceromony.

In the beginning of the celebration, the agents and leaders from all regions of the DAAD delivered a warm welcome. Ruth Schimanowski, the director of Beijing center of the program, highly commended the achievements and efforts made by BFSU. Then, she reviewed the development of DAAD in the past 20 years on the basis of analyzing of the datas and materials.

Deng Chuanlin, the representative teacher of our school, gave a wonderful speech on the theme of"the West New Generation of Elites' Practice and Challenge at BFSU".Dr. Deng, who has been responsible for teaching in DAAD for many years, is quite familiar with all previous students. He still remembered clearly each student's name and started his speech communitating with them, just like the call roll at class. The atmosphere was lively and relaxing. Later, Dr. Deng introduced how BFSU cultivated DAAD students, and summarized the performance all previous students had made. Dr. Deng’s excellent presentation and humorous expression made the meeting room full of happiness and laughter. Ruth Schimanowski, the director of Beijing center of DAAD, praised this speech as the most wonderful one she had ever heard since she came to China.

At the end of the event, the representative of China area of VDMA, Claudia Barkowsky, the director of human resource development of Volkswagen(China), Dr. Dietmar Albrecht, the director of education strategy, Beiten Burkhard, the partner of law office, Susanne Rademacher, and the representative of China area of GIZ,Oliver Auge, made a discussion on the topic of “ How to grow successfully as a qualified Germany employee and administrator in China”. All the students benefited a lot from this great discussion.

  After the event, the guests said that this activity not only connected all previous students more closely,but also gave them a chance to deepen the understanding of China’s national conditions and Sino-German relationship.
